Romania’s Pavilion at Expo Milano hosts between August 20 – 24 a series of events “Culture of the City”, which brings to the attention the most important Romanian scientific projects. Among these, there is the most powerful laser in the world, ELI-NP. Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) will be a center of European and international research at the highest level in ultra high power lasers. Project representatives present at the Romanian Pavilion, explained that this infrastructure will create a new European laboratory with a wide range of scientific fields, covering nuclear physics and astrophysics and applications in nuclear materials, radioactive waste management, materials science and life sciences.
The events are attended by representatives of the Institute for Nuclear Research „Horia Hulubei”, of the Romanian Space Agency, the Institute for Research in Microtechnology, the National Institute of Research and Development of Marine Geology and Ecology, and representatives of EU and Hungary Pavilions in Expo Milano.
